The photo-sharing Phanfare website is allowing coders to play around with its application programming interface (API), giving software developers among its subscribers and the public a chance to extend the functionality of its user interface.
Phanfare has already created a few sample widgets such as a badge that can pull newest the images into a third party website, like a blog, and a little widget that shows your most recently created album on your blog.
The photo-sharing site is wishing for more: an Apple Aperture plugin to push photos to Phanfare, an Adobe Lightroom plugin to push photos to Phanfare, more screensavers (can you ever have enough?), mobile phone clients that can browse Phanfare albums, etc.
