Kodak EasyShare C763, C613 Cameras Priced for Easy Entry

Kodak EasyShare C763 Digital Camera

Kodak has announced two entry-level cameras priced low enough to make it easy to own one. The cameras belong to the C-series point-and-shoot models, the 7.1-megapixel EasyShare C763, pictured above, and the C613, a 6.2-megapixel model.

Both cameras share many of the same features, differing only in the megapixel count and screen size. The C763 sports a 2.5-inch LCD display while the C613 has a slightly smaller one at 2.4 inches.

The new cameras allow MPEG-4 VGA video capture at 30fps, and users can print from movie capture as single frames in 4, 9, or 16-index thumbnails.

The EasyShare C763 is priced at $180 while the C613 will retail at $120 when they come out in April. Yes, they come with digital image stabilization, but don’t count on it very much. It’s not true IS that physically shifts the sensor to compensate for camera shake but rather a digital manipulation of higher ISO settings that permit shooting at low light, at the risk of getting some image noise. Hey, it’s already cheap for a stylish Kodak, don’t ask too much.
