The Intel International Science & Engineering Fair opened Monday in Albuquerque, NM with 1,500 high school students from 51 countries all over the world attending.
Over $4 million in prizes are at stake in competitions that recognize students’ science projects in diverse areas such as climate change, cancer treatment and engineering solutions.
The top three winners will each be awarded a $50,000 scholarship by Intel Corporation in what is considered the world’s largest science fair.
The Intel ISEF 2007 is presented by Agilent Technologies.
