You Absent Minded? Polaroid Backs Up for You

Polaroid Media Backup

Polaroid has introduced to the market a back-up device that the company claims is an industry first, because it instantly searches the computer for all digital images and copies them over to the device without having to install or configure any software or even clicking a mouse.

It appears to be for Grandma or somebody not very computer-savvy. (But who turned on the computer in the first place, Sonny?) Polaroid says their ClickFree media backup ensures a secure and easy process that eliminates the frustration of digital photo backup, making it ideal for all end users including those with little computer knowledge.

(Sound the alarm, son, Grandma’s gonna get your pr0n pics!) “Photo backup is not being performed by many consumers mainly due to apprehension or frustration of using existing external backup devices,” says Jon Pollock, Vice President and General Manager of Product Planning and New Technology at Polaroid.

It’s really just another external hard drive with some clever instructions to instantly copy whatever images are in your computer, intended for aging photogs who usually forget to backup their data; so it does the backup for you, whether you like it or not, once you plug it in.
