The Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne Switzerland, a museum for photography, is inviting everybody to be part of an exhibition that takes a close look at the current state of the exciting and rapidly mutating world of digital photography.
The images on the interactive exhibit will be constantly updated as submissions come in, but the real aim of project is to spark debate about the impact of digital photography on the world.
Does the digital shift constitute a revolution, or merely an evolution? Does the shift represent a real democratization of photography? Is citizen photojournalism worthy of its name? Does the shift threaten the livelihood of professional photographers in fundamental ways? Does the shift represent a shift towards more authenticity or truthfulness — or less?
