Vietnam Photogs Launch “Viet Nam – Today” Photo Contest

A photo contest has been launched in Viet Nam aimed at capturing the new global-friendly face of the country.

“Viet Nam – Today” aims to reflect the land and people of Viet Nam in all fields of political, social and economic process of integration with the world, according to its organizers.

Everyone is welcome to join the contest, amateur and professional photographers in Viet Nam or abroad, including foreigners. Entries are accepted in 30 x 35cm and 40 x 60cm prints.

There are three genres in the photo contest: single photo and photo collections on economics and businesses and photo collections on society and culture.

The three first prize winners will each receive 15 million Vietnamese Dong (equivalent to about $950), three second placers will get VND 10 million each and three third placers will receive VND 5 million each.

“Viet Nam – Today” is being organized by the Photo World magazine and the Viet Nam Photographic Artists’ Association. Photos can be sent to Photo World magazine, 9 Dao Duy Anh Street, Hanoi; 171 Vo Thi Sau, Ho Chi Minh City; and 384/30 Dien Bien Phu, Da Nang city. Deadline is March 31, 2008.
