TrekTech to Release TrekPod XL in September

Trek-Tech Logo

TrekPod XL is set for release on September 5, 2008. It’s a new ultra lightweight carbon fiber stick doing multiple duties as monopod, tripod, and walking staff. It weighs only 15 ounces, easier to walk with and better than carrying your heavy tripod.

Trek-Tech says that like previous TrekPods, the new TrekPod XL will feature a ball head and their exclusive MagMount system, which uses a Rare Earth Neodymium Magnet Ball head to make it easy to attach or remove your camera.

Similar to the TrekPod GO!, the TrekPod XL will break down to 28″ in length when in its custom case, allowing it to fit snugly into your carry on bag. By using carbon fiber, the new TrekPod XL now weighs 8 ounces less than the 23-oz. TrekPod GO!

The TrekPod XL however is an expensive walking stick. The stick with its MagMount ball head and carrying case will set you back $350.
