Think Tank Photo to Release Shape Shifter Backpack in December

The new Shape Shifter backpack from Think Tank Photo can expand and contract to fit your DSLR gear and a laptop. It’s a solution to the common problem of having to carry around a large foam box once equipment is removed from the backpack.

From its maximum thickness of 7 inches when the bag is full, the Shape Shifter backpack contracts down to 3 inches when all or some of the gear have been taken out. Photographers who use modular belts can collapse the backpack after they remove most of their gear and put it on their belt. Some gear can remain in the front, like two strobes, and it can still be compressed to the smaller size with the zipper.

The Shape Shifter has a padded rear compartment that can accommodate up to 17-inch laptops. It also includes a strap system to attach either a monopod or tripod on the front of the backpack.

Available in December, the Shape Shifter will retail for $249. The new backpack will be on display and demonstration at the PhotoPlus Expo, October 23-25, in New York City.
