Nikon D3000 Digital SLR Camera

Nikon today announced the D3000 digital SLR camera, replacing the D40/D60 series as entry-level camera to SLR shooting. The Nikon D3000 has a control layout nearly identical to the previous D40/D60 series, but with a slightly more rounded shoulders and a bigger 3-inch LCD screen.

It features a 10-megapixel DX-format CCD sensor and has a burst rate of 3fps. It also sports the 11-point Multi-CAM 10000 AF module previously seen in the Nikon D5000.

The new camera will retail for $600 in the US. This price includes an AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens with optical image stabilization.
