The High Cost of CES 2007: Is It Worth It?

How much does it cost to take part in CES 2007? $500,000 to $1 million for a small company like Digeo, who markets the Moxi Media Center, among others.

The costs begin with $24,500 to reserve 700 sq.ft. of booth space, tens of thousands more for furnishings plus about $300 a day for hotel expenses of 29 Digeo employees attending CES 2007.

Is it worth it? “Ask me afterward,” said Allison Cornia, vice president for marketing at Digeo. CES 2007 provides small tech companies like Digeo to mix it up with the big boys.

“I don’t think you can buy the value you are getting from exposure to that many people,” said Sterling Pratz, chief executive of Autonet Mobile, a month-old company trying to bring Internet access into cars.
