Tamron Unveils 28-300mm VR Lens for Nikon D60/D40x/D40

Tamron AF28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC LD Aspherical (IF) MACRO Zoom Lens

Tamron USA, Inc. announces the release of its AF28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC LD Aspherical (IF) MACRO zoom lens, equipped with built-in focus motor and their own Vibration Compensation (VC) mechanism. Target market: owners of the Nikon D60, D40x and D40 digital SLRs.

Tamron claims its VC (VR in the Nikon language) provides a 4-stop shutter advantage, enabling brighter and blur-free images even in low-light conditions.

The lens covers an angle of view equivalent to that of a 465mm ultra telephoto lens when mounted on a digital SLR camera equipped with an APS-C size image sensor.

The company said the ultra telephoto range is one feature where Tamron’s proprietary VC mechanism exhibits its compensation performance to the maximum extent. The lens enables the user to enjoy ultra telephotography with amazingly stabilized viewfinder images, according to the company. Covering an angle of view equivalent to 43mm at its wideangle end, the lens lets the user respond to a wider variety of scenes than do tele-zoom lenses in the 70-300mm class.
