Super Talent Tech Launches 128GB Solid State Drive

Super Talent Technology 128GB Solid State Drive

Has the day of the SSD arrived? Coming in the heels of SanDisk’s announcement of its 32GB solid state drive, Super Talent Technology of San Jose, California (aka Silicon Valley) today launched a full range of SSDs with SATA interface. The new flash drives offer up to 128GB of storage capacity, yes, 128GB!

They come in industry standard sizes of 1.8”, 2.5” and 3.5” which means they can be drop-in replacements for conventional hard disk drives.

The 1.8” SSDs for ultraportable movile devices will offer 4GB to 32GB, while the 2.5” models for notebooks will range in size from 8GB to 64GB and the 3.5” desktop replacement SSDs will give 64GB to 128GB.

Solid state drives offer several advantages over traditional hard disk drives: rugged reliability, low power consumption and fast access speed.

The new SSDs from Super Talent will be available in April 2007.
