Sigma Releases 70-200mm F2.8 Zoom Lens in Tokyo

Sigma APO 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Zoom Lens

The Sigma APO 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM full-frame telephoto lens is now selling in Japan. Sigma says its unique optical stabilization (OS) feature offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible, making telephoto shooting easy.

This massive 70-200mm f/2.8 lens is constructed of 22 elements in 17 groups. Sigma said the two FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements, which have the performance equal to fluorite glass, and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction of colour aberration.

The HSM label of the lens is for its Hyper Sonic Motor, which promises quiet and high speed autofocus as well as full-time manual focus capability, for cameras that support HSM.
