The marketing elves at Sigma Imaging UK are going bonkers on the stiff competition for DSLR space. They have dropped the price of the 14-megapixel Sigma SD14 digital SLR camera by £200 ($400)!
This offer is valid for the Christmas season, Sigma says, a very long Christmas season from November 1, 2007 to February 29, 2008.
The Sigma SD14 is powered by the much-touted Foveon X3 direct-image-sensor, which should reproduce high definition images rich in gradation and impressive three-dimensional detail.
The suggested retail price of the SD14 in the UK is £1100. In the US, it is $1600 for the body only; that should come down now to about $1200. If you search hard enough, you’ll even find a bargain price of $850 (Hint: here, quick!)
