Sigma Announces Two New Lenses for Nikon DSLRs

Sigma 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 DC HSM and 55-200mm f/4-5.6 DC HSM lenses

Sigma today launched two new lenses for the Nikon mount. Both lenses will work with all Nikon DSLR cameras, including the new entry-level D40 and D40x.

The Sigma 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 DC HSM and 55-200mm f/4-5.6 DC HSM lenses are equipped with Sigma’s HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) system for quiet auto focusing.

The 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC HSM is a compact and lightweight standard zoom lens made up of 8 elements in 8 groups with a minimum aperture of f/22 and weighs 8.8 ounces. An aspherical lens and Super Multi Layer Coatings are used to achieve excellent lens performance and High image quality throughout the entire zoom range, according to Sigma.

The 55-200mm f/4-5.6 DC HSM telephoto lens consists of 12 elements in 9 groups. The lens has a minimum aperture of f/22 and weighs 10.9 ounces.
