Sigma Announces Price of 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Prime Lens

Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Prime Lens

Sigma UK announces that the suggested retail price of the new 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM prime lens is £380 (about $740).

This is a large aperture prime lens with a standard focal length of 50mm, ideal for all digital SLR cameras. Sigma says this lens has superior peripheral brightness even at the maximum aperture and corrects possible sagittal coma flare.

The 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM is ideal for a wide range of subjects enabling shots of sharply defined images against a nicely blurred background. This lens effectively becomes an 80mm medium telephoto lens on digital cameras with APS-C size image sensors.

Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM features:

• Standard lens with large maximum aperture of F1.4.
• Sharp images with high contrast and superior peripheral brightness.
• Super multi-layer lens coating reduces flare and ghosting.
• Molded glass aspherical lens, perfectly correcting coma aberration.
• Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) ensuring silent, high-speed AF.
