Sharp Develops 1/4” LZ0P39DS CMOS Camera Module

Sharp LZ0P39DS CMOS Camera Module

Sharp Corporation of Japan has developed a very tiny camera module for mobile phones. The 2-megapixel CMOS module measures only 8.5 x 8.5 x 5.4 mm and would fit easily in cellphones with a thickness of 10mm or even less.

The LZ0P39DS CMOS auto-focus module incorporates lens, image sensor and Digital Signal Processor in one tiny package. The device can record animated images at 15 fps in 1600 x 1200 resolution.

Volume production starts in July 2007.
