Using Themed Images to Improve Your Photographic Skills by Harald Mante

Serial Photography: Using Themed Images to Improve Your Photographic Skills by Harald Mante is a new book (Rocky Nook, $39.95) that explains how to focus your photographic work on themes, objects, shapes, colors, and moods, rather than randomly searching for that one great shot.

Serial photography is Mante’s tried and tested method of teaching the art and craft of photography to his students. After putting his methods into practice, you will soon notice that you are able to train yourself to look at things in new and exciting ways. And by continuously adding new images to your collections, you will improve the quality of your photographic work.

The new book is beautifully illustrated with many of his own photographs, in the style of several Mante books such as The Photograph – Composition and Color Design.

Mante studied painting in the 1950s and since then has evolved as a highly successful photographer, designer, author, teacher and educator.
