Sandisk V-Mate Recorder Stores Video in Flash Memory

Sandisk has introduced its V-Mate Video Memory Card Recorder which can record video from various inputs such as television, cable, satellite, DVD players, personal video recorders (PVRs) like TiVo, and video cassette recorders (VCRs) onto the user’s flash memory card. The memory card can then be re-inserted for playback in a mobile phone, PDA, game console or laptop computers.

The Sandisk V-Mate can record up 3.5 hours of video per gigabyte of memory, using industry-standard video formats. Memory cards supported include SD, MMC, SDHC, MiniSDHC, MicroSDHC, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick PRO Duo.

It will be available in October for about $130.
