Sandisk to Offer Security Solution for Office USB Drives

USB drive poses security threat

With everybody having a USB flash drive in the office, the boss is understandably nervous, wary that sensitive office data might leak out. Sandisk comes to the rescue.

The Milpitas, California maker of flash memory has designed a product to help businesses manage and control the use of USB drives in the office. Security experts have confirmed what you and I know all along, that USB drives and other gadgets carried around by workers pose a real threat to businesses. That disgruntled employee could crash your whole network, or smuggle secret data to the competition. Worse, he could run away with all your pr0n collection.

So Sandisk says they’ll do something about it. Where is it? What is it? Is it the mTrust Shield? The xKey Drive? Oh, darn. Sandisk is not saying. Yet.

A case of announcing that they are announcing an announcement. Double darn.
