SanDisk picked up an Editor’s Choice Award from the American Photo magazine over the weekend at the PhotoPlus Expo in New York.
The award cited SanDisk Extreme III 16GB CompactFlash memory card for its qualities. “Unlike competitors, it’s a tough-as-nails professional version with ‘extreme’ temperature and shock specifications identical to its 8GB predecessor – and despite its doubled capacity, no reduction in the previous 20MB/second data transfer speed,†the award said.
SanDisk said Extreme III 16GB card is used by professional photographers who shoot RAW or high-resolution JPG files. It delivers the performance, reliability and capacity to capture these large files, according to the company.
SanDisk, based in Milpitas, California, is the original inventor of flash storage cards and is the world’s largest supplier of flash data storage card products.
