SanDisk has increased the capacities and speeds of its Ultra II line of SDHC memory cards. New in the line-up are 32GB and 16GB SDHC cards and an 8GB SDHC Plus USB card.
The new cards offer faster read and write speeds of up to 15MBps, up from previous speeds of 10MB/sec read and 9MB/sec write in the SanDisk Ultra II line.
The 8GB SDHC Plus USB offers even more, the convenience of SD and USB functionality in one card. With this 2-in-1 SD-plus-USB feature, the user does not need to carry a cable and a card reader to transfer photos and videos from cameras.
The 32GB SanDisk Ultra II SDHC card will ship in April with a MicroMate USB 2.0 Reader and will sell for about $350. The 16GB card with reader has a suggested price of $180, while the 8GB SanDisk Ultra II SDHC Plus USB card has an MSRP of $100. The 16GB and 8GB cards are expected to be available worldwide in March.
