Samyang 14mm/F2.8 Lens Available in March

After some delay, Samyang Poland (which originates from Samyang Korea) now announces the availability and price of its impressively spec’ed 14mm/F2.8 manual focus lens with a jaw-dropping price. The price is €329 (about $450 US) and it will be available in March 2010.

Samyang said the final model is now in production. The delay was due to the redesign of the aspherical lens; from optical glass construction, Samyang has decided to use the hybrid construction instead, claiming 15 per cent improvement in picture resolution at the edges of a photo without affecting chromatic aberration.

The Samyang 14mm/F2.8 will initially be available in Poland and the whole of Europe beginning next month for Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony and Olympus mounts. (Here’s hoping it will work as advertised, so good lenses will be more affordable!)
