Samsung Unveils HZI Ultra Wide Super Zoom Camera

Samsung HZI Ultra Wide Super Zoom Camera

Samsung introduces a new 10.2-megapixel superzoom digital camera with ultra-wide 24mm – 240mm (equivalent) zoom lens. The new camera, above, with the tentative HZ1 designation, also sports a 720p (30fps) HD Movie mode with sound, the ability to zoom while in video mode, 2.7″ Wide LCD display, dual image stabilization (optical and digital), face detection, smile shot shutter, blink detection, red-eye fix, and self portrait mode.

The company said that by providing a 10x optical zoom that starts at 24mm, Samsung is providing consumers with the best of both worlds – a great wide angle lens with strong telephoto capability.

To showcase this new direction, Samsung is introducing sharing photos through Home Network, uploading and sharing photos through WiFi, and innovative UI at Photokina 2008.
