Without much fanfare, Samsung today released its newest consumer-level compact camera, the 8.1-megapixel ES10, touting a pretty standard set of features: 2.5†LCD, ISO 1600, movie mode at 30fps VGA, and digital image stabilization. But the software algorithm inside the camera does some pretty complex tricks.
The ES10 features a red-eye fix, face detection, self portrait and a so-called Beauty Shot, a feature that automatically identifies imperfections such as blemishes and dark spots on the face, and retouches them so that faces appear brighter and smooth.
In playback, the ES10’s Multi Slide Show function can arrange pictures into a slideshow, add music and other slide effects.
