RICOH R10 Debuts in Japan Touting 3” HVGA Screen, Electronic Level

Ricoh R10 Digital Camera

The new RICOH R10 digital camera is a wide-angle shooter that can also zoom 7.1 times to allow the user to capture moments in various situations. Its focal length equivalent is 28-200mm in 35mm film terms.

The new RICOH R10 replaces the popular RICOH R8 (launched March 7, 2008), which featured a 7.1x optical wide-angle zoom lens, a high-resolution 10 megapixel CCD, Smooth Imaging Engine III, and a body combining operability and portability. It also adds an electronic level that was popular with the GR Digital II and GX200 for keeping the camera level when shooting landscapes, buildings, and other scenes where tilting of the subject is a concern.

Ricoh said the R10 combines a 10-megapixel 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor with its Smooth Imaging Engine III, an image processing engine capable of handling a wide range of shooting conditions. The company adds that the new camera also features a high-res 3-inch 460,000-dot HVGA monitor and other new capabilities to further enhance its utility as a tool for easy photography with advance photographic functions.
