Review: Panasonic 7-14mm f/4 ASPH LUMIX G VARIO is Good

Panasonic 7-14mm f/4 ASPH LUMIX G VARIO Lens

The review from SLRGear.com on the Panasonic 7-14mm f/4 ASPH LUMIX G VARIO lens indicates a very capable lens, offering images that are very sharp all the way to f/11. The minor complaint about chromatic aberration can easily be corrected in digital post-processing, it said.

The review notes that the Panasonic 7-14mm is small and light, weighing in at just 300 grams (just over 10oz) because it’s made of plastic.

Distortion is extremely well-controlled in this lens, according to the review, with practically no distortion between 8-12mm, very slight barrel distortion at 7mm and very slight pincushion distortion at 14mm.

The Panasonic 7-14mm f/4 ASPH LUMIX G VARIO lens is designed for the Micro Four Thirds format, notably for such cameras as the Panasonic G1 or GH1 MFT interchangeable lens cameras.
