Pentax K20D Drops Price (Again!) by $200

Pentax K20D

The highly rated Pentax K20D is now $200 cheaper, a big price drop from its latest body-only price of $1000 (it was priced at $1300 initially). Earlier this month, Pentax offered a $100 rebate on the K20D.The price drops come amid retreating sales in the current global economic slump and the fierce competition between market leaders Canon and Nikon.

Kit prices, too, went down for the K20D: it’s now $880 with the DA 18-55mm II lens and $1200 with the even more capable DA 16-45mm lens.

“With this price reduction, PENTAX now offers consumers the highest resolution on one of the most fully-featured DSLRs priced under 800 dollars,” said Bill Zani, vice president sales and marketing, PENTAX Imaging Company.

The K20D features a 14.6-megapixel CMOS sensor, 2.7-inch LCD, 11-point AF with 9 cross sensors, in-camera shake reduction and a weather-sealed body.
