Pentax 645D Gets Support from Updated RAW Codec

Pentax 645D Medium Format Camera

Pentax has released its updated RAW codec for Windows, adding support to the Pentax 645D medium format camera. The updated codec works with 32-bit Windows 7 and Vista operating systems, it does not support 64-bit computers.

The new version of the codec now supports the Pentax 645D which began to be available in Japan in May 2010. The 645D medium format camera features a 40-megapixel Kodak sensor, SAFOX IX+ autofocus system with 11 sensor points, weather-proof body, dual SD/SDHC card slots and a glass prism viewfinder.

Pentax said the 645D has been developed to provide super-high-resolution images produced by large image sensors — something previously available only on professional models — to serious landscape and outdoor photographers.
