Panasonic Lumix LX3 Gets DIWA Gold Award

The Digital Imaging Websites Association today announced a DIWA Gold Award to the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX3 compact camera, saying it is “by far the most powerful compact camera available, even when compared to much larger cameras.”

DIWA cited its record-breaking 24mm wide angle zoom and f/2.0-2.8 lens speed, as well as its outstanding lens performance (‘course, it’s a Leica lens).

It’s not a perfect camera, of course: its white balance performance is disappointing and sometimes, in high contrast scenes, it shows some dynamic range problems. But that Leica lens saves the day.
