onOne Software says their Genuine Fractals v.5.0 is now available as a public beta and anyone interested may participate as beta tester by registering at http://labs.ononesoftware.com/.
The Genuine Fractals software is used to increase the resolution of a digital image to be able to print larger pictures without degrading the quality of the resulting image. onOne Software claims that scaling up to 800% is possible without apparent loss of quality.
onOne says GF v.5.0 offers several new features: improved scaling algorithm and performance, built-in sharpening and grain controls, and additional file format support. The new version has also been rewritten as a Universal Binary to be fully compatible with both PowerPC and Intel-based Macintosh computers.
Those who purchased Genuine Fractals 4.1 or Genuine Fractals Print Pro 4.1 on or after December 18, 2006 are entitled to a free upgrade to Genuine Fractals 5, the company said.
