Olympus Rebrands SW Compacts as Stylus TOUGH

They used to call it the Stylus SW (shockproof, waterproof) but henceforth, it will be called the Stylus TOUGH. That’s the rebranding being done to the camera which started life as the Olympus Stylus 720 SW in 2006.

The last version was announced last August, this year, as the Stylus 1050 SW but starting in 2009 the camera will simply be called Stylus TOUGH.

Olympus said the shockproof and waterproof models are ideal for adventure: they can survive anything from an underwater snorkel tour to a day with the kids at the playground. And for a trip to the most extreme mountain peaks or the darkest depths of a cavern, the freezeproof and crushproof µ TOUGH cameras are the perfect partner to bring along to capture brilliant images of an unforgettable experience, the company added.
