Olympus Intros Tiny 10MP E-400 DSLR

Olympus E-400 DSLR

Olympus has announced its tiny 10-megapixel E-400 DSLR, so tiny in fact you can almost call it a compact camera.

But its correctly placed buttons and controls do not hinder photographers with large hands, making its small size a convenient advantage.

Olympus said its CCD image sensor is energy-efficient and has fast processing times (3fps burst mode with a five-image RAW buffer), with a state-of-the-art amplifier circuit that is claimed to virtually eliminate noise. The company added that the E-400 has a tweaked and improved version of the Supersonic Wave Filter, which reduces the likelihood of dust on the imaging sensor via high-speed vibrations that shake the dust and other particles off the CCD.

The E-400 is made according to the FourThirds standard, and comes with two lenses: the EZ 1442 ED 14-24mm f/3.5-5.6 and EZ-4105-2 ED 40-150mm f/4-5.6, equivalent to 28-84mm and 80-300mm on a 35mm camera, respectively.
