Olympus Cuts E-400 Price

Olympus Evolt E400 DSLR

Word from London says Olympus UK has cut the price of the Evolt E-400 DSLR. It’s not official (price cuts are seldom made official), but an Olympus UK rep whispered that the new price for the E-400 body will now be £600 ($1,174 US).

The single kit lens may be had for £600-650 ($1,174-$1,273 US) and £650-700 ($1,273-$1,371 US) for the double lens kit; still pricey, but just about level now considering the prices of other DSLRs in the 10Mp category.

The Olympus E-400 debuted in September 2006 for a retail price of £700 ($1,273 US) for the single lens kit with body, and £850 ($1,664 US) for the double lens kit. The camera is compatible with the Four-Thirds system, and comes with Supersonic Wave Filter dust reduction, and an underwater setting.
