Olympus Announces New E-30 Four Thirds DSLR

There’s a new kid on the block and his name is Olympus E-30, apparently positioned between the professional E-3 DSLR and the amateur-level E-420 and E520 DSLRs.

The Olympus E-30 shares its siblings place in the Four Thirds ecosystem. It features a 12.3-megapixel mage sensor, 11-point autofocus system, and a 2.7″ twist and swivel LCD screen.

The new camera also boasts a set of six special effect filters (soft focus, pale and light, grainy film, light tone, pinhole, and pop art), plus live view, an ISO range of 100-3200, and a new electronic level keep the horizon straight.

And oh, this new kid’s not really on the block yet; he’s scheduled to ship in January, estimated price $1300. Olympus will also be releasing an updated 14-54mm II f2.8-3.5 lens at $600 by then.
