OCZ Introduces 32GB, 64GB Solid State Drives

OCZ Technology Solid State Drive

If more and more manufacturers go into the production of solid state drives, we might see a welcome price drop soon on these currently expensive devices. Taiwan-based OCZ Technology has introduced its own 32GB and 64GB SATA II solid state drives to compete with the likes of Samsung, SuperTalent, PQI and many others in the increasingly crowded market.

The OCZ SSDs tout premier speeds of 120MBps read and 100MBps write; its Serial ATA connectivity is rated at 300MBps. The company said their drives are housed in durable yet lightweight brushed metal alloy for ultimate reliability.

If you look closely though, you might find more than just a passing resemblance of the OCZ SSD drives to Samsung’s 2.5-inch FlashSSDs; the specs are the same, the housings are suspiciously similar, even the placement of the screws. Hmm…this is not just a re-branding, right, OCZ? (Oh, it is?)
