No More Caplio, It’s Just the Ricoh R8 Now

Ricoh R8 Compact Digital Camera

Dropping the Caplio monicker, Ricoh has introduced the R8 compact digital camera featuring 10 megapixels to update the previous 8-megapixel Ricoh Caplio R7.

The new R8 retains the R7’s 7.1x optical zoom (28-200 mm equivalent), Smooth Imaging EngineIII image processing engine and 2.7-inch display screen, but offers a complete redesign of the body. Ricoh says the new model combines ease of use and technical specification in a body that is contemporary and stylish.

The Ricoh R8 is due to ship in March with a rather steep $460 price tag.
