Nikon has introduced the new AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm F/3.5-5.6G ED VR zoom lens to go with the just-announced Nikon D90 DSLR. Used with the D90’s DX format, the new lens offers a 27-157mm focal length equivalent.
It also features built-in Vibration Reduction and Silent Wave Motor, and a lens construction consisting of 15 elements in 11 groups (with one ED glass and one hybrid aspherical lens).
Nikon says the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105MM F/3.5-5.6G ED VR is useful in a broad range of shooting settings. The wide zoom range makes it suitable for shooting buildings and scenery while the telephoto zoom range is ideal for portraits, according to the company.
The new lens will start shipping in September, $400 the price.
