Nikon Small World Photo Contest Delisted from Rights-Grab List

OK boys and girls, it’s now safe to join the Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition. The Pro-Imaging organization says this Nikon photo contest now meets the Bill of Rights standards for photography contests, which essentially means Nikon has rewritten the rules of the contest to be fair and to respect the copyright of photographers to their photos.

The Bill of Rights for photography contests was developed by Pro-Imaging, an international self help organisation of professional image creators founded on a belief in photographers rights. In 2007, Pro-Imaging took the decision to develop a set of guidelines with regard to rules for photography contests that would be fair and respectful to both photographers’ rights, and to the organisations promoting and sponsoring photo contests.

Pro-Imaging says they “are delighted that the Bill of Rights has been upheld by Nikon Instruments, and expect to announce further similar positive agreements with other business and governmental organizations in the near future.”
