Nikon released today the new Capture NX 2 photo editing software, upgrading the Capture NX software released in 2006.
Capture NX 2 uses a new Selection Control Point tool, to adjust a specific area of an image with point-and-click convenience: just click on an image and adjust a few sliders to get the desired effect. The new Auto Retouch Brush also allows the user to to simply apply a few mouse strokes to brush away spots or other distractions that appear in a picture.
The original Capture NX software introduced users to direct on-image editing. This technology was the basis of the Color Control Point tool which enabled photographers to easily adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, color and warmth on specific elements of a picture such as sky, skin, grass, etc. This made it possible to choose any area of a photograph for editing without the need for complicated selections or masking techniques.
