Nikon Expands Thailand Camera Production Unit

Nikon Corporation is expanding its production of digital cameras and lenses in Thailand.

It is pouring in an additional $15.2 million in its camera plant in the Southeast Asian nation to raise the company’s output of digital SLRs to 300,000 per month next year.

The Nikon factory, located at the Rojana industrial estate in Ayutthaya, currently produces 290,000 DSLR cameras. The company also aims to increase its production of interchangeable SLR lenses by the same amount.
