Nikon Europe today posted Firmware 1.11 for the Nikon D40 digital SLR camera, fixing an issue where shooting times were not always accurately recorded within the image data for images captured in bursts of continuous shooting.
The updated firmware is available in Windows and Macintosh versions and immediately downloadable from their website.
Check your firmware version first by turning the camera on and pressing the MENU button and then selecting Firmware Version from the Setup Menu.
Users are advised to upgrade both the D40 A firmware to v1.11 and the B firmware to v1.11. Nikon says that operation of your D40 is not guaranteed if either A or B firmware is upgraded to v1.11 while the other firmware is not upgraded.
