NewerTech Offers Compact miniStack v2.5 Storage

NewerTech miniStack v2.5 External Drive

The miniStack v2.5 — made by Newer Technology, Inc., of Woodstock, Illinois — is a powered hub storage solution for just about any data intensive application. But it is particularly useful for digital photography and audio/video editing for its high speed and high capacity capabilities.

It is equipped with three FireWire 400 and four USB 2.0 ports, plus the latest generation Oxford 934 bridge chipset for fast and efficient data transfer. It has a 7200RPM SATA drive with up to 1.0TB of storage capacity and up to 32MB of disk cache to quickly store and retrieve videos and photos.

NewerTech says the miniStack v2.5 also functions as a centralized desktop hub for connecting multiple digital devices such as scanners, printers, memory card readers, digital cameras, and iPods, simultaneously and clutter-free. Mac users can add the miniStack v2.5 to an Airport Extreme wireless network via USB to wirelessly share files, perform Time Machine backups, and share other devices.

The miniStack v2.5 is available in various capacities starting with the 80GB model for $105; the top 1TB version goes for $280.
