They’re so new they still don’t have a name for their special events (which look very worthwhile) but the New York Underwater Photographic Society (NYUPS) is hosting another special event on Thursday July 12 at The Rock Theatre in the Times Square Arts Center, 300 West 43rd St at 8th Avenue, in Manhattan, for members and anyone wishing to learn more about underwater photography.

The new NYUPS, which held its inaugural event only last April, aims to bring together underwater photography and video enthusiasts and professionals from the NY, NJ and CT area. The society is open to novices, amateurs and pros. Even those from outside the region can participate online.

Thursday’s event will have Michael McNamara, Technical Editor of Popular Photography and Imaging magazines, as featured speaker to discuss New Gear Preview and How to Produce Amazing Underwater Prints. Also, underwater photographer Mark Snyder, will shed some light on Improving Your Underwater Lighting.

The presentations will be followed by a small cocktail reception and networking hour, sponsored by H2OPhotoPros.com, Ultimate Dive Travel, and DivePhotoGuide.com.

Admission is free, but an RSVP is necessary to reserve your space at this special event. See link below if you’re interested.
