Minox Digital Eyepiece Camera 5.0 for Spotting Scopes

Minox has launched its 5-megapixel Digital Eyepiece Camera, the DEC 5.0, designed to record digital photos through a spotting scope. The DEC 5.0 is compact at 68x56x71mm and weighs only 220 grams.

This camera is fitted to the eyepiece bayonet of a spotting scope or telescope to photograph subjects at a great distance from the viewer, very much like using a powerful telephoto lens with 40x magnification.

Its 2.4” inch color display monitor screen serves not only as a viewfinder for getting the subject into view but also for fine adjustment of the normal camera functions as well as for checking the images after shooting.

Minox said the DEC’s folding ‘flip-up’ built-in shield not only protects the TFT monitor and the operating controls during transportation and storage, but more importantly, it acts as an anti-glare shield when the Digital Eyepiece Camera is in operation as it prevents interfering reflections on the viewfinder image and gives a better density of image in bright light conditions.

The DEC 5.0 has a built-in 128MB internal memory; storage can be expanded up to 4GB via its SD card slot.
