Marketing 101 for the Beginning Professional Photographer

If you’re a beginning photographer and you have your eyes set on making it as a professional, you have to master not only the technical and artistic aspects of your craft but also the business and marketing side of things. After all, you have to have a market to sell to to have a business to take care of.

The blog Pixelated Image has a post on what promises to be a series of articles on some of the essential marketing stuff a photographer can use to bring his service to the market.

The first of this self-promotion series is about identity, defining yourself as a photographer and who you will be to your prospective market.

Find out what you do best and concentrate on it. Focus on headshots if that’s what you do best. Then ask yourself, “What sets me apart from other photographers?” to find your Unique Selling Proposition or USP.
