Major manufacturers announce defects in camera CCDs

An apparent flaw involving Sony CCD sensors has caused several major camera manufacturers to announce CCD advisories. The CCDs are found in many models of cameras from Canon, Fujifilm, Sony, Nikon, Konica, Minolta and Ricoh. The CCDs used epoxy packaging that eventually allows moisture in, damaging the sensor. The effects of the malfunction are blurry images and unnatural colors on the LCD display when the camera is in camera mode.

Visit your camera manufacturers web site for replacement information if your camera exhibits this type of problem.
