Litepanels Micro Provides Continuous Light for DSLRs

Now that your Nikon D90 or Canon 5D Mark II can shoot movies, you need continuous light to do that properly. Enter the new Litepanels Micro for DSLRs.

It’s a small contraption that mounts like a flashgun on your camera measuring 3.3×3.3×1.5in and weighs just 110g. Its light source: an array of cool white light emitting diodes (LEDs) that are infinitely dimmable from 0 to 100% so you can dial in just the right amount of light for your subject.

The Litepanel Micro runs on AA batteries. You get 1.5 hours of continuous output from 4 standard AA batteries or over 7 hours with EnergizerRe2 Lithium AA’s. Power can also be supplied optionally through a convenient 5-12V input jack located on the back of the unit.

When not shooting movies, the Litepanel Micro can also provide a good fill light for shooting stills.
