LightZone 3.0 Better than Photoshop, Light Crafts Claims

LightZone 3.0 photo editing software is now out in the market offering new photo management tools and enhanced features, such as instant styles, that should make it faster and easier for everyone to edit photographs.

Software developer Light Crafts says photographers can quickly convey what they saw, or what they want to evoke, often with a single click with LightZone. And they are trying to entice SLR owners to try their software by going up against Adobe Photoshop.

Light Crafts claims that Adobe Photoshop is used by only 4 percent of SLR photographers, taking this to mean that 96 percent of serious photographers believe Photoshop does not meet their needs because it is either too expensive or too complicated.

They say Photoshop is not geared for photography. “After 20 years of Photoshop development, fundamental capabilities such as native RAW editing, integrated noise reduction and operational layers are still missing,” the company said.

LightZone 3.0 addresses this with software that includes RAW editing, noise reduction, direct and batch processing and more intelligent editing tools for $249.95, according to Light Crafts.
