LG.Philips LCD Unveils Flexible Color A4-Size E-Paper

LG.Philips LCD E-Paper

LG.Philips LCD has developed the first A4-size 14.1-inch flexible color E-Paper display that uses electronic ink to produce its display of 4,096 colors.

The company said E-Paper can be viewed from a full 180 degrees and has all the properties of paper, but it can be written to and erased electronically.

The E-Paper uses a substrate that arranges Thin-Film Transistors (TFT) on metal foil rather than glass, allowing it to recover its original shape after being bent.

It is extremely thin at 300 μm (micro-meter) and LG.Philips LCD says the images displayed are comparable in quality to printed pages.
